Milton Keynes Dons Community Trust CEO Paul Mitchell has set out ambitious plans for the charity's most impactful season yet. The official charity of the football club will focus on employability and supporting people into work while expanding its community events.
Mitchell, who took over the role just over a year ago, pointed to the success of last year's CEO Sleepout, which raised more than £48,000 for organisations supporting people experiencing homelessness. That event will return to Stadium MK in November, with funds split between The Shelter MK, Unity MK, YMCA Milton Keynes and the Trust itself.
"As the new football season gets underway, I feel a real sense of excitement around Stadium MK, even more so this year following the club's promotion to Sky Bet League One," Mitchell said.
New partnerships and events
The Trust will also bring back the Walk from Woughton after its successful launch in April. A new partnership with the George Baldock Foundation will help raise vital funds for young people across Milton Keynes. Looking further ahead, the Mental Health World Cup will be hosted at Stadium MK in May 2027.
Hundreds of local residents have already benefited from the Trust's community, health and wellbeing initiatives. Mitchell defined the charity's goals in clear terms. "More opportunities, more partnerships, more people supported and more lives changed. That's what success looks like for us in 2026/27," he said.
The announcement comes as the first team seeks its first league win of the campaign. Milton Keynes Dons currently sit 22nd in League One with six points from seven games, having drawn four of their last five matches. Their next opportunity to climb the table comes at home to Bromley on 26 September. Fans can check the full schedule on the club's fixtures page and see how the team is shaping up in the standings.
