Milton Keynes Dons' former top-scorer Rhys Healey has been released by Huddersfield Town after two-and-a-half years at the club. He made just 22 appearances for the Yorkshire club, with the last of them coming in February 2025. Healey was a hugely popular player during his two spells at MK Dons. Initially, having joined in 2018 on loan from Cardiff City, he scored nine goals in 21 appearances before being recalled by his parent club. He then made the move back to the city a permanent one in 2019 and though injury delayed the start for his new club, he finished the curtailed 19/20 campaign as top-scorer with 12 goals in 20 outings. Healey spent the first-half of last season on loan at Barrow but made just one 16-minute cameo off the bench in August. Healey was a key player for MK Dons during his time at the club, and his departure will be felt by the fans. The club will now look to rebuild and find a replacement for Healey's goals and experience. Healey's release by Huddersfield Town is a significant development for the club and will have a major impact on their squad.
