Milton Keynes Dons have signed Charlie Goode from Stevenage on a free transfer. The 30-year-old central defender made 45 appearances for Stevenage last season as they reached the League One play-offs. Goode has previously played for Scunthorpe United, Northampton Town, and Brentford, with whom he won promotion to the Premier League in 2021. He made six Premier League appearances for Brentford before loan spells at Sheffield United, Blackpool, and Wigan. Goode has now joined Milton Keynes Dons, who were promoted to the third tier in April. He becomes the club's first signing of the summer. Head coach Paul Warne said, 'This marks our first signing of the summer, a first of many, and it's great news to be welcoming Charlie to the club.' Warne added, 'I tried to sign him a few seasons ago; in the end it didn't happen, but I've spoken to him on many occasions – including after good results and congratulating him on the odd goal or performance – so it wasn't a difficult decision for me when I knew he was out of contract.'
