Milton Keynes Dons midfielder Ben Wiles eyes win against Huddersfield
Milton Keynes Dons midfielder Ben Wiles is eager to score against Huddersfield after fans got 'personal' with him. The midfielder made 110 appearances for Huddersfield Town during a two-and-a-half year spell.
Wiles is expecting a rough reception from his former fanbase, and said scoring against his old club is high on his list of motivators heading into the game.
"Absolutely (it spurs me on). For anyone to say it doesn’t is lying," he said. "I just want to go out there and score and to win. That’s all we want to do. I want to put up a good fight.
"I don’t think I’ll get an amazing reception, but they could prove me wrong. Some people in the crowd might give me a little ripple but I think there will be a few boos as well. When you’ve not been successful at a football club, and there’s an opinion set on you straight away, it’s not nice.
"As players, you just want to be liked. We’re human beings. Sometimes it can get a bit personal.
"They have their opinions and that’s absolutely fine. Some day I wasn’t good enough, some days I was. But that’s also football, I’m only human."
