Milton Keynes Dons have signed Eli Campbell from Everton to bolster their defensive options. The 22-year-old left-sided centre-back, capable of playing at full-back, joins the League One side to add depth in the backline.
Campbell came through Everton's academy after joining in 2017 and signed his first professional contract with the Toffees in June 2022. He spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Fleetwood Town, making 13 appearances under Charlie Adam as the club were relegated to League Two.
The following season, Campbell moved to Ross County in the Scottish Premiership, where he made 31 appearances before being sent off against St Johnstone. Ross County were later relegated via the play-offs against Livingston.
After returning to Everton for the start of the 2025/26 season, Campbell made his senior debut for the club in January in the FA Cup against Sunderland. He then agreed to a switch to Port Vale on deadline day in the January transfer window, making 20 appearances in all competitions as the Vale were relegated from League One.
Now at Milton Keynes Dons, Campbell’s versatility is valued by head coach Paul Warne, who sees his ability to play in multiple defensive positions as a key asset. The club currently sit 23rd in League One with 3 points from 4 games, having recorded 0 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss, with a recent form of LDDD. They have scored 4 goals and conceded 6 this season, leaving them 7 points behind leaders Huddersfield.
Campbell’s signing comes ahead of Milton Keynes Dons’ next fixture, an away match against Wycombe Wanderers on 2026-09-05, with Wycombe sitting 24th in the table. Fans can stay updated on the team’s progress via the standings page and view the full squad list online.
