Milton Keynes Dons recorded a commanding 4-1 victory over Bromley at Stadium MK on Tuesday night. The win, their second in a row, lifts them to 14th in the League One table as they build momentum after a difficult start to the season.

Aaron Collins was the star of the show, scoring twice to take his season tally to 12 goals. Alex Gilbey also found the net and provided an assist, while Charlie Goode rounded off the scoring late on.

How the match unfolded

Collins opened the scoring five minutes before half-time, finishing from a Gilbey pass. Bromley hit back just before the break through Mitchell Pinnock to level the score. The game turned decisively after the hour mark when Collins struck again to restore the Dons' lead. Gilbey then headed home a Ben Wiles cross to make it 3-1, before Goode tapped in from a Collins assist to complete the scoring.

Paul Warne made three substitutions following the fourth goal, introducing Dan Barlaser, Cohen Bramall and Gething Jones. The result continues a positive recent run for the Dons, who have now won three of their last five league matches. This upturn in form has seen them climb away from the relegation places, moving them to within a point of their next opponents, Doncaster Rovers.

Looking ahead

The Dons now sit 18th in League One with 12 points from 11 games, a significant improvement on their early-season position. They will look to continue this form when they host 17th-placed Doncaster this Saturday in their next fixture. Bromley, managed by interim boss Byron Webster, remain in the relegation zone without a win since the international break. The visitors' task was made harder when defender Besart Topalloj was forced off with a first-half injury, adding to their existing injuries concerns.

Milton Keynes Dons' next match is at home to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday, 31 October.

Paul Warne has praised Aaron Collins for his improved work-rate off the ball. The MK Dons head coach had been critical of the striker earlier in the season but says he is now delivering. Warne said, "The goals are great, but I like his work ethic. I'm on him all the time." Collins scored twice in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Bromley, taking his season tally to 12. The Dons, now 14th in League One, host Doncaster on Saturday.
