Team news and selection
Manager Luke Williams has several decisions to make following the midweek draw. Tom O'Connor, who was forced off after just 12 minutes in that game, is a major doubt due to injury. Carl Johnston and Owura Edwards are both in contention to return to the squad, however, which would provide a welcome boost.
The club's lengthy injury list continues to include Sam Hughes, Rio Adebisi, Matt Garbett and Declan Frith. Callum Paterson, who made a positive impact as a substitute last time out, is pushing for a start. Collins leads the charge
The main attacking threat for the Dons is Aaron Collins. The 29-year-old forward, who joined from Bolton Wanderers for a substantial fee in the summer, has already contributed four goals and an assist in six appearances this term. He scored in the wild 3-3 draw with Wycombe and then set up Paterson's goal just four minutes later, highlighting his importance.
Collins, who can operate centrally or as a wide forward, is a strong dribbler and aerial presence.
Williams looks ahead
Ahead of the fixture, Peterborough boss Luke Williams reflected on his previous tenure at Stadium MK. "I enjoyed my time at MK Dons even though it was difficult because of the pandemic at the time," Williams said. "They are a club with a wonderful infrastructure, they have an excellent stadium and we will be backed by our magnificent supporters."
