Scott Hogan, the former Milton Keynes Dons top scorer, has agreed a short-term move to League One side Wigan Athletic. The 34-year-old striker was without a club after leaving the Dons at the end of his contract this summer.
Hogan finished last season as the Dons' leading marksman with eight goals, having arrived on a free transfer in October 2024 under then-manager Scott Lindsey. He made 20 appearances in total, scoring once in the league campaign that ended with promotion from League Two under Paul Warne.
He has now linked up with Wigan's squad, managed by Gary Caldwell. Hogan was an unused substitute in their 0-0 draw against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough this week.
Dons' current campaign
Milton Keynes Dons, now competing in League One, are looking to build momentum after a challenging start. They currently sit 20th in the table with five points from six games, following a recent 1-1 draw with Peterborough.
The squad's attacking options and current league position are detailed on our standings and squad pages. Hogan's departure in the summer means the goalscoring burden has shifted to other forwards as the team seeks its first win of the season.
