Milton Keynes Dons were held to a 1-1 draw by Peterborough United at Stadium MK. Aaron Collins gave the Dons a first-half lead, but a late goal from substitute Chris Conn-Clarke extended the side's winless start to the League One season.
Collins opened the scoring after 29 minutes, reacting quickest to turn in the rebound after Callum Paterson's deflected cross had struck the crossbar. The home side had chances to double their advantage, with Peterborough goalkeeper Alex Bass making strong saves to deny Dan Crowley before the break and Collins again shortly after half-time.
MK Dons goalkeeper Will Dennis, making his debut, was also called into action to keep out efforts from Harry Leonard and Evan Weir. The game turned in the 85th minute when Conn-Clarke, introduced from the bench, found the net to secure a point for the visitors.
The result leaves Milton Keynes Dons 19th in the table with four points from their opening five matches. Their recent form shows four draws and one defeat, a run that includes a 3-3 comeback at Wycombe last weekend.
Managerial changes saw Paterson and Crowley substituted at half-time as the team shifted from a 4-5-1 setup to a more attacking 4-3-3 formation. Jane Russell reported that further tactical adjustments could be expected for the next game, stating, "After the second-half comeback at Adams Park, MK Dons could be in line for another formation tweak for the visit of Peterborough."
Attention now turns to a short trip to face AFC Wimbledon, who are 16th, on Thursday, 17 September. The Dons will be looking to finally turn their string of draws into a victory.
