Milton Keynes Dons midfielder Brooklyn Ilunga has completed a move to Hartlepool United. The 22-year-old made 47 appearances for the Dons, but his contract was not renewed after Bromley's promotion to League One. Ilunga made his debut for the Dons in the final game of the 2020/21 season and went on to make 23 appearances for the club, predominantly in the EFL Trophy. He joined Bromley in January 2025 and helped the team win the League Two title, but his contract was not renewed for their step up to League One. Ilunga has now joined Hartlepool United, who are led by ex-Newcastle United midfielder Lee Clark. Upon signing, Ilunga said: 'Speaking with the director and speaking with the gaffer, once I got an understanding of how big the club is and the project that wants to happen here, I just thought it would be a perfect fit for me.' Ilunga wants to create chances for his strikers and teammates to score goals and make an impact at the club. He feels that exciting times are ahead and the season is going to be a very good one.
